Used to protect the pointed ends of knitting needles. The bigger knitting needles wont hurt that much. These are for my larger knitting needles, say 4mm and above. It’s the smaller ones that hurt, and breaks easily too if not handled carefully. I hardly use these. I cant seem to find the smaller rubber point protectors. Must have lent them to my friend whom i’m teaching how to knit. I found that the smallers ones being sold now doesnt really hold on to the smaller 3mm, 2.5mm and 2mm knitting needles. The quality of the rubber is somewhat harder. Dunno, uses less latex and more plasticiser perhaps.
