Nice, right. Debby’s my best friend and i got her started knitting last year. Then she got pregnant and then she’s all busy with her baby now and has not much time to knit. But that didnt stop her from buying this bag for me. She also bought one in pink for herself. And when she brought it over for me a short while ago, the first thing that came to my mind was it’s gonna make a great knitting bag. In my favorite shade of green color too!!! And that’s what she has in mind too, lol. See, that’s what best friends are like: we think alike. Now go tell me what a wonder bag and friend i have, lol.
Picked this up at Fila store when we went to buy new luggage on Tuesday night. I love the color, fiery orangey-red; like shimmering copper. Matches hubby’s luggage. His is in black and grey. I used to take my knitting out with me in shopping paperbags and put it behind Malcolm’s stroller. I’ll take my project out to knit whenever i sit down for a drink or whilst waiting for food to arrive. Not a moment wasted.
This fits the stroller basket perfectly. Has a main compartment for my yarn and project with an inner zippered pocket and a small purse that attaches to the inside with a button. That’s where i put all my shopping loyalty cards for the time being. Has another two compartments that closes with buttons on the front and back. Good for my knitting patterns/books.
Can you see the drawstring near the left opening. The zippered end leaves a 2″ or so opening. I like this. My long needles will have no problem in here. The handles are adjustable. I think it can have up to 10″ drop. But i like it short like my paperbags, lol. It cant stand upright without some adjustment though as it doesnt have a wide and flat base. Whatever it is, i’ll make do with this till i find another one. In all, it’s nice and trendy.
This black bag used to be my highschool schoolbag, lol. I started knitting after i left school, so, it came in handy. I use it to store all my knitting needle sets and some oddballs of yarns; both new and used. I even found some “dead” projects inside. A dinosaur, a crocheted long piece of dunnowat, the bottom of a crocheted blouse; GOSH!!! How long ago were those projects??? I’ll most probably unravel those and salvage the yarn for smaller things like pouches. Or maybe use them to crochet flowers and embellishments. See how things go.
I took some nice pics of my yarn yesterday, but turned out that i dont like them afterall once i’ve uploaded them to flickr. Will have to snap them when the lighting is much better. I dont understand why the emerald yarn is having a red cast on the white background. I’ll most likely group them together instead of having individual shot of them. Less headache.
Bought my magazines, and also, the yarns are with me now. Still in the plastic bag though. havent had time to snap some pics of them. Maybe this evening. I was thinking of making some small items for sale. What do you think people would to buy? Handphone or iPod pouches perhaps? Notebook cover? Soft toys? Oh…. it’s endless. Let me think a lil bit harder.
I put the yarn aside so that i can take some pics of them. But Deb put them back inside the paper bag and took it home with her instead, lol. What a klutz. Now, she’ll have to bring them over again. I’m still working on the copper orange blouse. Dont even have time to take a progress picture of it. *Makes mental note to snap pic of blouse*

Sometimes, i wish that hubby can be more supportive of my knitting. To him, it’s a costly hobby to keep as yarn is very expensive here in Malaysia. One of the reasons i’ve slowed down on knitting so much is also because of the high cost involved. Being able to afford it is one thing. But still, a decent blouse can cost around Rm500 in yarn alone.
Yeah, it’s therapeutic and i love it when i can get completely absorbed in a project. But i knit very fast, and when it’s completed, i’ve gotta go get new yarns again, lol. Asking him to drive me over to the yarn shop is like a “forget it” thing. Hard to get a parking space there. Oh well… have to “teh” harder, lol.
It’s been almost a week since i started this blog and i still havent found the time to update it. And knitting, lol…. it’s still inside their respective knitting bags. I really have to set aside some time on a specific day every week if i intend to finish up those long-due projects of mine.
So many new yarns at the shop. I dare not even buy any back home. I know once i buy, the old projects will probably grow mould, lol. But, what i really what is a new bag for all my knitting and crochet needles. I saw a very nice set of crochet needles at the yarn shop on Monday. I may buy it back when the crochet bug bites me ![]()
