Orange Blouse in Katia Perla - Progress 4

25052007977

Didnt get to knit much for the whole of yesterday. I only managed about 8 rows in all from where i stopped. Another 16 rows to go and then, it’ll soon be finished. Oh well, every knitter needs a break, right. So, here comes my lemon cheesecake.

Orange Blouse in Katia Perla - Progress 3

Made another 1.75″ progress. That’s only about 18 rows. Only need another 24 rows before i start working the armholes and collar. It’s gonna be a breeze from there. I’m going to knit a V-neck for this blouse. Winnie has gone to school with my kid. So, say hi to Mickey :)

Orange Blouse in Katia Perla - Progress 2

22052007913

I made progress at last. After so long, lol. I ‘ve forgotten how long it took to do a row in 3mm for this. It’s more than 170 stitches for the patterned section and 11 stitches less for the non-patterned section. Each section has 22 rows. It takes 9 row to make one inch progress, lol. Yeah, that long; that much knitting. I hope i can finish this by the following weekend and have them joined together and modelled. Now, who wants to be my model???

Orange Blouse in Katia Perla - Progress 1

Before i start work on new projects, i’m reviving two existing ones which was left languishing in their bags since last year. And this is one of them. At 75% completion. It’s a sleeveless blouse in 3mm. I hope this wont take long.

Knitted Pouch for Sony Cyber-shot T100 - Completion

17052007847

Here it is!! My T100 isnt naked anymore. Wearing a nice body-hugging purple pouch with colorful bits. I made a good decision in changing the 2×2 ribbing to 2×1 and knitting the opening in 1×1. The tapered opening prevents my T100 from slipping out and yet, allows me to pull it out in an instant.

I slipped two old taped-together loyalty cards to protect the camera’s large 3″ lcd screen from accidental breakage. The rigidity provided by the two cards is just right. Now, i need to find a nice wrist-strap to replace the one that came with the camera. Or if the mood and inspiration arise, i might just make a matching one for it.

Lunch break

As i’ve to go to HSBC, we parked the car behind Oldtown Kopitiam and had lunch there. Not that it’s easy finding a parking space at 1.30pm. It’s the only one available and we didn’t hesitate any longer. I continued knitting until our food to arrive. It’s toast with kaya & butter, and iced honey lemon for me.

Knitted Pouch for Sony Cyber-shot T100 - Progress 4

This is where i left off last night. Funny why i tend to stop at 5.5″ again, lol. See, the 2×1 ribbing looks much better than the previous 2×2 ribbing, right. Let’s just wait and see what the end result turns out to be later, k. Should be able to finish this if nothing gets in the way of my knitting.

Knitted Pouch for Sony Cyber-shot T100 - Progress 3

After i unraveled the whole pouch, i left everything inside its bag virtually untouched. It’s only when i’m in the car and on the way to pick Gordon up from school that i have the time to cast the starting stitches on, lol. Yeah… if i’m working on a project, my knitting goes wherever i go. I’M NOT AFRAID TO KNIT IN PUBLIC; AND PROUD OF IT!!

This time, i cast on 26 stitches and worked it in 1×1 ribbing for 8 rows ending on the wrong side. Switched to 2×1 ending with 2 knits. Knitting in 2×1 lessens the overall thickness of the pouch and shows off the colorful bits of yarn even more. The opening has a neater look now.

Knitted Pouch for Sony Cyber-shot T100 - Undo

I’ve unraveled the completed pouch, lol. How “me”. This will occur throughtout this blog. Some people dont have the “heart” to undo their knitting, but i do this very often. And most of the time without hesitation. It’s only a couple of hours work. Whatever end result that i dont like, it’ll go back onto the ball of yarn. I’d rather have something that i’m truly satisfied with than having to “live” with something of “sub-standard”. I’m a perfectionist as far as my handcraft goes.

I thought that i can finish up with a 1 x1 ribbing after i’ve joined the sides together, but i cant seem to “pick up” the stitches onto my 3mm needles as they created a thick top at the opening. So, i’ll just reknit the whole thing again. And no, the yarn is just as gorgoeus. No harm done. I only use high quality yarn that can be reknit over and over again despite numerous undo-ings, lol. Let me see if i have the time to knit this in peace without interruption or not today. I may be able to complete it.

Knitted Pouch for Sony Cyber-shot T100 - Progress 2

DSC01478

This is where i stopped at yesterday and will be continuing from after i publish this. The kids were all over me for the most of my most productive hours yesterday, lol. Being Mother’s Day also, i didnt knit much and played with them both instead. In all i made another 4″ of progress and ending at 5.5″ now. I think i’ll be able to complete this mini pouch by this evening if nothing gets into the way. I love those colorful bits, do you?
