Jet Fil Rodeo Drive

DSC04992

This is my latest buy. Jet Fil Rodeo Drive in Lilac. Ribbony softness….oooohhh; iLike!!! Three 20g balls of 200m each. With a gauge of 20 x 14 in 5mm. Gee, what can i knit with only three balls. The shop says it’s more than enough for my size, lol. A skinny top perhaps. It’s 100% nylon.

DSC04994

It’ll look really bland on it’s own. So, i jazzed it up with 5 balls of Lily yarn in matching rainbow lilac.

Here’s how both yarn look like combined. It brings out the Rodeo Drive even more, am i right. Oh, you’ll have to wait to see for yourself how it looks like. WAIT being the order of the day.

Lily Yarn

DSC02788

Lily Yarn has always been my all-time-favorite. It’s soft and very elegant both on its own and matched with other yarn. This is out local yarn store’s specialty item and it comes in lots of colors. Enough to match with every yarn they have in stock. It’s best to use two balls at once with 4mm dk needles. For those who enjoys self-torture may want to try with 2mm ones. Highly discouraged. It’ll take forever to finish, unless you want your project to go on forever and forever and forever.

Katia Cindy

DSC02790

This is Spanish Katia Cindy No. 8. A very soft yarn. This has a blend of shimmery golden yellow, brown and green mix which does not go very well with my skin tone. I cant even describe its colors properly, lol. But who cares, iLike. 50g balls with a gauge of 20 x 26 in 4 - 4.5mm dk needles. I bought it cos i thought it’ll look good with a pattern i saw earlier. Now that i want to start work on this, i cant locate the pattern and have to go back to the yarn store to get it. And i know once i get there, i’ll come home with even more yarn and most likely forget about the pattern. The only way is to bring the whole batch of yarn there and get them to start the project off for me. Till then.

Katia Tropical Print

DSC02780

Here are 4 balls of very colorful Katia Tropical Punch ribbon yarn in varying thickness along its length. Very tropical indeed, lol. 50 g balls/ 75m with a gauge of 18 x 20 in 4 - 4.5mm dk needles. Now, what am i to do with them. Another tube top or halter perhaps. I think that’s what i can knit with only 4 balls, the last of what the yarn store has. Or maybe if i no longer like it by the time i want to work with it, i’ll change it to something else. Forgotten what made me buy them in the first place. Oh, that’s so ME.

Bagful of Yarn

This is not the only bag. I’ve got more beneath the bed. All new yarns. I just love buying yarn, more than i do clothes. Everytime there’s new stock, the yarn store is bound to call to inform me. Unless i dont go there, or i’m sure to come back with another batch, lol. The ones in lilac are my latest buys. I havent thought of any nice patterns or cutting for these beautiful yarns yet. But i’ll most likely make halters or spaghetti-strapped tops. They go well with just about anything and easy to knit or crochet.

Filatura Di Crosa - Brilla

DSC01605

Filatura Di Crosa yarns are wonderful to work with. This is the last ball of Brilla in 395 that i have left. Made a blouse for my best friend sometime back. I’ll most likely exchange this on my next trip to the yarn shop. This yarn has a beautiful satin-like sheen. I will definitely knit another blouse for myself in this if the shop still has stock in other colors. Comes in 50g balls of 110m/120yds with a gauge of 28 x 34 for 10cm x 10cm worked in 3mm needles.

Lanartus Lambada

Lanartus Lambada in Emerald, Plum and Purple

Arent they gorgeous? Three very deep and elegant colors, with smaller colorful bits intertwined along the entire length. Cannot resist these. I may be a bit too tan to take on these hues, but who cares. I know how to bring out the best in them and yet look great in whatever that i knit; as always. I bet these will make a good stretchy knit; like a tube halter top, or spaghetti-strapped top. Geee…. skinny me love figure-hugging tops. Almost addicted to them.

Lanartus Forro

Lanartus Forro in Yellow Orchre and Red

Here are some of my yarns. Clueless as to what to knit yet. I dont think these yarns require any intricate pattern at all. With all the colorful yarns intertwined together, all they need is a good cut to show off those gorgeous colors. I doubt if they’ll provide much “stretch”. They’re of good weight and would drape well with the right cut. Knitting these would be a breeze provided those finer threads dont get caught in my needles. And oh yes, those knotty sections will slow me down a bit….. just a bit.
